Think about your favorite film or music video. Both of these forms of entertainment began simply as words on a piece paper. It took someones creative vision to bring these words to life in a vibrant way that captured you and allowed your emotions to attach to a visual story. Swedens most promising director is one of those people with a vast creative vision. Concha began pursuing his dreams of directing while in secondary school in Sweden. He won his first film festival at the age of 16.Following this, Concha was accepted into the prestigious School of Film Directing at Gothenburg University. After realizing that his film-making and directing skills were already advanced beyond his years, Concha made the decision to leave the school after two months. The decision paid off as a short time later he was offered a film contract by Sonet Film, Swedens biggest studio. Since leaving Gothenburg, Concha hasnt looked back. He has made over 30 short films, many awarded on film festivals around the world, and directed high profile music videos for artists such as Swedish Grammy winning The Sounds, Swedish Grammy winning artist Leslie, Grammy nominated R&B singer Trey Songz, with the latter having generated over 5 million views online. As a filmmaker, Concha is always pursuing new challenges and new ways of thinking in filmmaking. He proved this by creating Swedens first Hip-Hop musical entitled Beslutet (The Decision). The film garnered him thirteen international film awards on different film festivals. His innovative shortfilm Stunder (Moments) was premiered on Swedish Television and awarded as Best Film and Best Script at Skanes Film Festival. The film is still screened around Sweden as educational purpose for future filmmakers.Concha premiered his feature film Mañana in cinemas across Sweden during the spring of 2009. The film has already been featured at prestigious international film festivals in Bogota, Cairo, Cleveland, Newport Beach and his native Sweden along with being covered by such trade publications as Variety. During its opening weekend in Sweden, screenings for Mañana were sold out. The response to my work thus far has been tremendous, says Concha. I have so much more I want to accomplish so this is truly only the beginning. Accolades have been plentiful in Concha's young career. The City of Malmö and the State of Skane have awarded him with the cultural scholarship for his inspiring work. Everyone is born to do something.
